How I leverage my past for my future
Throughout my journey, I have appreciated how each experience has shaped me into who I am today.
As a project manager, I not only strengthened my research and design skills, but I also developed the ability to delegate tasks to a team, estimate and meet deadlines, and work in an agile environment.
My freelance experience with some local businesses gave me a real-world understanding of the full site-building process. My goal was to intentionally look for ways to improve at each step, starting with consultation all the way to approval.
Always challenging my abilities, I became a travel agent and improved my knowledge of how to dig deep and reveal the client's true needs without them noticing. I gained a better understanding of how crucial details are and how to check quality. While enjoying my job and helping others, my manager recognized my commitment to customers and my close-to-flawless satisfaction survey scores! ​
While leading kayak tours I developed public speaking techniques. I acquired composure internally to keep a focused mind while handling emergencies on the water.​
With experience in many Customer Care Specialist roles, I understood, subconsciously at the time, how a small interaction to the developer/designer can greatly affect a user that utilizes a system daily.​
As a Marketing Associate, I enjoyed learning that it is critical to take the time to fully comprehend company culture and products. This made me a more confident, competent, and reliable consultant.
Starting a career at Hilton enabled me to gain confidence to be in front of large crowds and strengthen my ability to multi-task, schedule, be punctual, and have patience.
